چکیده

Abstract A dust grain immersed in a low-pressure gas discharge obtains permanent negative surface charge due to the high mobility of electrons compared that ions. This essentially governs all fundamental processes dusty and complex plasmas involving grains, neutrals, (an)ions and—consequently—virtually industrial applications these types are affected steered by it. In this work, we have measured application laser-induced electron detachment from nanosized grains concert with microwave cavity resonance spectroscopy laser light extinction. The main result is release governed photodetachment rather than thermionic emission, recharging occurs on timescales well agreement orbital-motion-limited (OML) theory. total density residing inside volume follows saturation signal, which was used combination values derived extinction measurements estimate mean charge. 140 nm (average) diameter work obtained be range 273 – 2519 elementary charges, lower bound matches analytical predictions using OML

First mesospheric in-situ measurement in Iran using sounding rockets and plasma impedance probe (PIP)

This paper reports on the progress for the first development of rocket probe for in-situ measurement of ionospheric plasma parameters in Iran. The designed probe known as Plasma Impedance Probe (PIP) will be used to measure the electron density, electron-neutral collision frequency, background magnetic field, and temperature in the mesospheric and in the altitude range of 70 km to 150 km. This ...

Charge gradient effects on modulated dust lattice wave packets in dusty plasma crystals

Nonlinear Dust lattice modes are studied in a hexagonal two-dimensional dusty plasma lattice, in presence of charge gradient of dust particles. In this lattice, such gradients affect nonlinear behavior of dust lattice waves. The amplitude modulation of off-plane transverse dust lattice wave packets is investigated considering the anisotropy of interactions, caused by the height-dependent char...

Compressive and rarefactive dust-ion acoustic solitary waves in four components ‎quantum plasma with dust-charge variation

Based on quantum hydrodynamics theory (QHD), the propagation of nonlinear quantum dust-ion acoustic (QDIA) solitary waves in a ‎collision-less, unmagnetized four component quantum plasma consisting of electrons, positrons, ions and stationary negatively charged ‎dust grains with dust charge variation is investigated using reductive perturbation method. The charging current to the dust grains ca...

Measurement of net electric charge and dipole moment of dust aggregates in a complex plasma.

Understanding the agglomeration of dust particles in complex plasmas requires knowledge of basic properties such as the net electrostatic charge and dipole moment of the dust. In this study, dust aggregates are formed from gold-coated mono-disperse spherical melamine-formaldehyde monomers in a radiofrequency (rf) argon discharge plasma. The behavior of observed dust aggregates is analyzed both ...

Dust charge fluctuations in a magnetized dusty plasma.

Charging currents of electrons and ions to a spherical dust grain in a uniform magnetized dusty plasma have been examined. It is found that the external magnetic field reduces the charging currents, thereby decreasing the dust charge fluctuation damping of a low-frequency electrostatic wave in a dusty plasma.
